Afghanistan exports 30,000 tons of grapes and figs worth $36M

The governor's office of the Taliban in Kandahar has reported that the region has exported approximately 23,000 tons of grapes and 7,000 tons of figs this year. The primary destinations for grape exports have been India and Pakistan. The export of figs occurred over the last two months, although the exact destinations were not mentioned. The exports are valued at an estimated $36 million.

However, Afghan investors have voiced concerns over several operational challenges, such as inadequate storage facilities, increased tariffs, and financial transaction restrictions. Specifically, the recent hike in tariffs by Pakistan on Afghan exports has exacerbated the difficulties for Afghan traders.
