Afghanistan has exported 6,368 tons of tomatoes from Kandahar to Pakistan in the first six months of the Afghan calendar year, as reported by the Taliban-run Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock. This represents a 2.94 percent increase in tomato exports from Kandahar compared to the same period last year. Despite this growth, Afghan traders are encountering obstacles in exporting goods. Challenges include inadequate cold storage facilities, rising customs tariffs, visa issues, and the impact of international sanctions affecting bank transactions.
