Newly developed ginger to be grown in Polish greenhouses

Researchers in Poland have developed a strain of ginger capable of growing within the country's borders. Traditionally, this root vegetable, known for its use in treating colds, infections, and viruses, has been imported from India and China.

The team from the Life Sciences Department at the University of Poznań revealed their achievement on October 29, following two years of research, as reported by TVP Poznań. This domestically developed ginger will be cultivated in greenhouses to protect it from Poland's challenging climate. Ginger is recognized for its anti-inflammatory properties and is commonly used to alleviate symptoms of sore throat, heartburn, cough, and nausea.
