Fall produce sales up 9%, mixed price trends for seasonal favorites

In the United States, the fall season has witnessed an uptick in produce sales, with a focus on seasonal favorites such as apples, squash, pomegranates, and pears by retailers. The total numbers for these seasonal items have seen a 9% increase compared to the previous year, with fruit making up 48% of all advertisements this week. Despite the increased interest, prices remain stable, with apple juice and pie pumpkins experiencing a 16% and 29% increase in price year-over-year, respectively. However, there have been decreases in the prices of butternut squash and large pumpkins, which are down by 12% and 10% respectively.
