Alnatura provides more details with regard to the restructuring:

"In their function as wholesalers, most of our partners remain in the network"

Specialty organic food retailer Alnatura is adapting its structures to become more competitive. According to a recent report in the trade media, the company plans to part ways with its organic wholesalers. However, the company believes it is particularly important to put this report into perspective, it said replying to an inquiry. "In their capacity as wholesalers, most of our partners in the network will remain and will be responsible for supplying local producers and for additional product ranges in the future."

Alnatura has been working with Metro Logistics as its logistics service provider since April 2024 to establish a future-proof logistics solution tailored to the company, it is reported. "The new cooperation enables us to work directly with all producers supplying us nationwide, thus optimizing the management of our fresh produce ranges. We made this decision with the aim of optimizing the supply of our retail partners and our own Alnatura stores. This will also ensure an even higher level of customer satisfaction in the respective markets."

This step, which has been in place for years for the dry goods and frozen food ranges, closes the logistics gap for Alnatura. "The storage and logistics for the dry goods range in our Alnatura stores have been handled by our Alnatura distribution center in Lorsch for 14 years. Since 2017, we have been working with a service partner to handle the logistics for our frozen goods." The changeover in fresh food logistics will be completed by the end of November, they add.
