Abidin Şengül advocates for kiwi cultivation to boost economy and diversify agriculture

Abidin Şengül discussed the economic benefits kiwi cultivation could bring as an alternative to traditional hazelnut farming. Highlighting the potential for kiwi to gain a strong market position and economic return, Şengül advocated for support to expand kiwi farming in the region. With the backing of agricultural engineers from the District Food, Agriculture, and Livestock Directorate, kiwi grown organically is poised to find a robust market both locally and in other provinces, enhancing the district's economic landscape.

Şengül also pointed out the added advantage of kiwi cultivation in enriching agricultural diversity. He outlined several key benefits: bolstering the local economy through increased income for farmers and tradesmen; adopting organic farming practices for kiwi production, which ensures health and environmental benefits; and leveraging kiwi as a significant export commodity. He concluded that regional agricultural policies need to be revisited to facilitate the growth of kiwi production.
