The Gulfood Manufacturing fair is underway, featuring 250 Italian companies

Dubai, the ideal hub for companies targeting the East

More than 250 Italian companies in the agri-food sector are currently (5-7 November) exhibiting at Gulfood Manufacturing in Dubai, with a few dozen specifically operating in the fruit and vegetable sector.

Gulfood Manufacturing is now a must-attend in the Near East for the food industry, as it includes new ingredients and advanced technologies that enable companies to reduce costs, grow and innovate.

The Italian companies present feature a small number closely linked to the world of fruit and vegetables: among them Agrumaria Reggina, Futura srl, Sermac, Sacmi, Sermac, Pigo, PND, Rossi, Robopack.

The event is aimed at companies that manufacture lines for fruit processing, packaging, tomato processing, etc. Several European companies, and Italian companies in particular, offer grading and packaging lines dedicated to greenhouse vegetables such as tomatoes, aubergines, cucumbers, peppers, and courgettes. For example, Futura srl showcases grading and packaging lines for dates which are attracting a lot of interest, with technologically-advanced versions that will be ready by 2025.

Gulfood features 6 sections: Ingredients, Processing, Packaging, Supply Chain Solutions, Control and Automation, and Miscellaneous. The industry has the opportunity to connect, learn, engage and move food and beverage manufacturing towards a more sustainable, resilient, agile and efficient future.

Among the visitors there are many delegations from Egypt, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, the Emirates, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, plus entrepreneurs from African countries, such as Cameroon.

"We must compliment the organisation of the fair for the services, the organisation, and the hotel facilities. Everything is perfect, as you rarely find around the world. The first day of the fair went very well, with lots of visitors," says Omar Papi of Futura.
