Brazil expands agricultural exports to Peru, reaching new global markets

This year marks the addition of Peru to the list of countries where Brazilian agricultural products have gained market access, totaling eight new authorizations. These approvals have facilitated the export of various products including yerba mate, cassava meal, coconut fiber, dried clove flowers, hay, and derivatives of bovine and swine blood.

In 2023, the value of Brazilian agricultural exports to Peru surpassed USD 724 million, encompassing forest products, meat, and soybeans. The period from January to September 2024 saw exports amounting to USD 548 million. Additionally, Brazil's apple exports reached over USD 30 million, catering to nearly 100 global destinations in 2023.

This latest market access signifies the 194th achievement for Brazilian agribusiness in the current year, bringing the total to 272 new opportunities across 61 markets since the beginning of 2023. These developments are the result of the collaborative efforts between the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
