The marketing of the Fioretto cauliflower, produced by Tokita Sementi Italia SRL, a Japanese seed company, cultivated by Sipo, has commenced. "We are pleased to announce that we are now selling Fioretto, a truly innovative brassica comprising a series of very sweet cauliflowers with elongated stems," said Massimiliano Ceccarini, Sipo's general manager. "We are always open to the challenge of introducing quality novelties, and Fioretto represents the latest example of this commitment to excellence."
The crop is cultivated in greenhouses in Campania, with the harvest currently underway. The product will be available until April. "Collaborating with Tokita is a pleasure," Ceccarini adds. "They have proven to be a reliable and trustworthy partner. The seed company supplies us with the seeds and provides comprehensive technical support. Our role is to enhance the product in collaboration with our growers and sales network in Italy and abroad. I would like to emphasise that we offer our customers, as always, only Italian-grown products."
The Fioretto cauliflower is a family of cauliflowers with different colours, now available in white and purple. The stems of the Fioretto inflorescences can reach up to 12/14 centimetres in length and have a very sweet flavour. The entire vegetable can be consumed. When cooked, it does not give off pungent odours, which is sometimes a limitation for some consumers. It has a sweet flavour and is soft, making it ideal for eating in its entirety, including both the inflorescence and the stems. This versatile ingredient can be cooked in minutes and has a wide range of uses in the kitchen. A selection of innovative recipes is available on the Sipo website.

"We are currently experiencing a surge in interest from Germany and Switzerland, and I am confident that within a few months, we will have a similar level of recognition and appreciation from buyers in Italy and other markets. To assist the consumer in making an informed decision on how to best utilise our product in the kitchen, we have included a QR Code label with detailed instructions."
Sipo offers customers the option of purchasing products in bulk, with the inflorescences placed in classic, free-standing cartons. The product is also available in 225-gram trays, which are offered in three varieties: single-coloured white, single-coloured purple, or a combination of the two.
"We are very pleased to be working with Sipo," says Carlo Vittucci, director of Tokita Sementi Italia. "Like us, Sipo is committed to providing high-quality products through a transparent supply chain." The close collaboration between researchers, growers and marketers is a crucial factor in the success of any innovation in the field of horticulture. Sipo represents a partner with the capacity to expand through its own production network while also demonstrating the expertise required to reach national and international markets."
