Kyrgyzstan boosts vegetable imports from Uzbekistan and China and halts imports from Russia

Between January and August 2024, Kyrgyzstan significantly increased its vegetable imports compared to the same period in 2023.

Uzbekistan remains the leading vegetable exporter to Kyrgyzstan, demonstrating growth to 3,495.6 tons valued at $1,628,800 in 2024, up from 2,671.3 tons at $1,095,700 the previous year.

China also showed a remarkable increase, with imports rising to 3,392.7 tons in 2024 from 1,970.3 tons in 2023.

However, vegetable imports from Iran saw a considerable decrease. Over the first eight months of 2024, supply volumes dropped by 34%, totalling 982.4 tons compared to 1,320.4 tons.

Imports from Kazakhstan also declined, from 248.2 tons in 2023 to 122.6 tons in 2024.

Turkey reduced its shipments from 53.8 tons in 2023 to merely 1.5 tons in 2024.

Regarding imports from Russia, Kyrgyzstan has completely ceased them during this period.
