For the first time in four years, Amur Region of Russia receives grapefruit from China

After a four-year hiatus, the Amur Region in Russia has welcomed a shipment of grapefruit from China. On November 10, a consignment weighing 5.5 tons of fresh citrus was delivered to the region through the "Kani-Kurgan" international checkpoint.

According to the Rosselkhoznadzor Administration for the Amur Region and the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), the last importation of grapefruit into the Amur area occurred in January 2020 via the "Blagoveshchensk" checkpoint. There were no restrictions on the supply of these fruits, hence the reasons for their absence remain unknown.

At the temporary storage warehouse, inspectors took samples and sent them to a testing laboratory. The studies confirmed the safety of the products, allowing the entire batch to be released into circulation.
