Russians to seize vegetables from Ukrainian farmers in occupied Kherson

In the occupied territories of Kherson, Russian forces are preparing to seize not only grain but also vegetables from local farmers. They are establishing a new "state procurement operator" to force farmers to sell their entire vegetable harvest to the state at a fixed price that is below market value, mirroring the system already in place for grain.

This setup allows intermediaries connected to Russian collaborators to resell the produce at market rates, profiting from the difference, while farmers receive only minimal, state-controlled subsidies. These subsidies, instead of providing real support, make farmers financially dependent on the occupiers, limiting their autonomy and stripping them of any substantial profit.

To counter these actions, people can help by raising awareness of these oppressive policies, advocating for international accountability, and supporting Ukraine through rallies or donations to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
