The Sorma Group, a company specializing in the design and construction of post-harvest processing lines for fruit and vegetable products, will be attending Interpoma 2024. From November 21st to 23rd, the Sorma Group will present its technology solutions for the apple industry at the Bolzano Exhibition Centre, Hall CD, Stand C18/58.
Sorma Group provides machinery and packaging systems for various stages of apple processing, designed to meet the demand for automation. The catalog includes submergers, brushing machines, packaging tables, weighing systems, palletizers, and strapping machines. These machines are compatible with various package types and sizes.
One example is the PRA-F111 Bin Submerger, a dual-purpose machine that submerges bins while simultaneously rotating them to empty their contents into the water channel, reducing processing time. For automated apple processing, Sorma offers a system with the CP814ML Electronic Weigher and the FH210 Bagger. The weigher uses self-learning technology to optimize productivity and efficiency while maintaining gentleness. After weighing, apples are conveyed to the FH210 bagging machine, which processes two types of thermo-sealed bags (with a handle or twisted closure) using a delicate product feed system and smooth conveyor belts.
Sorma's F115 Cardboard Punnet Filling and Closing Line is designed for quick size changes using software that stores different settings. This system includes a Denester, Easypack Filler, and Punnet Closer and Labeller. For filling pockets, including those pre-placed in boxes, the Aporo machine is suitable. Aporo uses a multi-head pick-and-place robot arm capable of processing 220 to 300 apples per minute. It also features video cameras to detect pocket dimensions and position apples uniformly, showcasing their most colorful side.
Sorma offers several automatic palletizers and strapping solutions. These include gripper and loading bed palletizers, capable of handling various box sizes with flexible stacking layouts, and strapping machines that can operate independently, in line with palletizers, or on a shuttle system to strap multiple pallets. These systems can also include automatic corner piece fitting for added convenience.
This offering is supported by the Sorma-Paper line, a plastic-free, 100% recyclable cardboard punnet with flaps. It is made of FSC-certified paper and cellulose, suitable for standard packing machines, and offers extensive customization options. This includes thermo-sealed or twisted-closure Poly Bags (with or without handles), which help maintain the product's natural moisture content.
Sorma Group also provides the Sorma-Compostable line, offering fully biodegradable and compostable solutions to meet the growing demands of environmentally conscious consumers. Cellulose mesh, for example, is ideal for organic products and holds EN 13432 compostability certification.
