Peter Soller, founder and owner of ISI Ismaninger Feldgemüse GmbH, has focused on washing and peeling vegetables for the retail and hospitality sectors since 1999. Before that, he used self-assembled washing systems. When production increased, he discovered a more efficient solution: Sormac's washing systems.
This led to the purchase of a washing system in 2003. In the years that followed, Soller invested in a brush polisher and a carrot peeling and slicing line, which nowadays is capable of processing around 18 tons of carrots a day.
Despite Soller's company being (in his own words) "a relatively small customer" for Sormac, he feels he is treated with the same level of dedication as a large customer. Area Sales Manager Fabiaan Hendricks and owner/General Director Bert Haffmans visit for a cup of coffee if they are in the area, or they spontaneously go out together for food. He has also maintained a warm relationship with Karsten Schmitz from Foodcons, Sormac's German representative, for the past 20 years.
Soller also speaks highly of the fast service and availability of spare parts. "Once, to minimize downtime, a part was even taken from a new Sormac machine. Another time, when visiting Fruit Logistica, I discovered that a machine optimization I had suggested had been implemented in the new model. This level of service and commitment shows that Sormac understands what is important to us and that they really listen," says Peter Soller.
