Suffolk tomato factory lights mistaken for northern lights

Dee Harrison, 56, from Ipswich, mistook the pink and red glow from Suffolk Sweet Tomatoes' LED lights for the Northern Lights. Driving early Wednesday, she spotted the vibrant sky above Bramford, believing it was an aurora. Sharing photos online, she received praise for the "impressive" sight before learning the glow came from lights used to grow tomatoes. Local resident Adam Cotterell explained the phenomenon occurs during misty or foggy weather, especially in winter. Harrison admitted feeling "slightly disappointed" but found the sight fascinating nonetheless. Despite its beauty, the glow doesn't rival the true Northern Lights seen in May 2024.
