Kazakhstan increases potato exports to Turkmenistan market by fivefold

According to the statistical office of Kazakhstan, from January to August of this year, Turkmenistan received 17,500 tons of Kazakh potatoes. Compared to the same period last year, this figure has increased fivefold.

As a result, Turkmenistan has taken third place among the neighbouring countries to Kazakhstan in terms of purchasing this agricultural crop. Uzbekistan ranks first with 252,300 tons, and Tajikistan is in second place with 34,000 tons.

During the reported period, Kazakhstan exported 305,400 tons of its potatoes to foreign markets, totalling $32.7 million. This figure is 2.6 times higher than in the first eight months of the previous year.
