Surberry celebrates 10 years with new investments and global growth plans

On the occasion of its tenth anniversary, Surberry has reiterated its commitment to maintaining its established course of action for the forthcoming decade. "We wanted to be a guarantee of fruit and that will continue to be our roadmap," stated Harold Huot, the company's manager, during an interview. This year, the firm has intensified its focus on enhancing customer service by inaugurating a new warehouse in Perpignan, France. The objective behind this move is to provide a more direct and personalized service to its French clientele. "We want to pay more attention to supermarket chains by ensuring good quality control of our products," Huot elaborated.

In addition, Surberry has made an investment in a new farm in Huelva for multiple purposes, including the testing of new berry varieties. This initiative is part of the company's ongoing efforts to improve product quality and introduce innovative genetic materials to the market. "It is a way of testing new genetic materials that can provide an extra to the market in a more direct way, as well as having a farm as a model to advise the rest of our farmers on our know-how," the manager detailed.

Simultaneously, the Huelva-based entity is expanding its production capabilities through partnerships with farmers in Morocco, complementing its operations in Portugal, France, and Spain. This expansion is supported by a growing technical and commercial team, aimed at meeting market demand.

Despite potential challenges in the berry sector, Huot sees a positive outlook due to the increasing global demand for these fruits, with particular interest from markets in the Middle East, the United States, and Asia. Moreover, he highlighted Morocco's significant commercial efforts outside Europe, which could positively impact berry market dynamics on the continent by mitigating supply constraints.
