Asparagus
Movement from Peru imports through South Florida ports of entry is expected to remain about the same this week then increase slightly in preparation for the increased retail demand for the holiday season. Trading is moderate. Prices of green jumbo are generally unchanged, white is slightly lower, and others are slightly higher. 11-pound cartons bunched green jumbo are mostly 28.75-28.95, extra-large are mostly 24.75-25.75, large are mostly 24.75-26.75, standard are mostly 22.00-24.75, small are 20.00-20.75. White large 38.75-40.00. Quality is generally good. Movement from Mexico crossings through Arizona, California, and Texas is expected to remain about the same. 11-pound cartons/crates and bunched supplies are insufficient to establish a market. The F.O.B. report is expected to resume the week of December 8. Avocado movement from Mexico crossings through Texas is expected to remain about the same. Trading is active. Prices of conventional 36s, 40s, 60s,s and organic 48s are higher, others are generally unchanged. Cartons 2-layers Hass 32s are mostly 76.25- 78.25, 36s are mostly 76.25-78.25, 40s are mostly 72.25-74.25, 48s are mostly 56.25-58.25, 60s are mostly 39.25-41.25, 70s are mostly 24.25-26.25, and 84s are mostly 18.25-19.25; organic 48s are mostly 67.25-68.25, 60s are mostly 42.25-45.25, and 70s are mostly 36.25-38.25.
Cucumber
Movement from Mexico crossings through Nogales, Arizona is expected to decrease. Pickle supplies are light. Trading of Long Seedless is slow, others are fairly active. Prices of Long Seedless are slightly lower, others are generally unchanged. 1 1/9-bushel cartons medium are mostly 12.95, fair quality are 9.95-10.95, ordinary quality (supplies light) are 7.95-8.95; small are mostly 9.95, large are mostly 12.95. Cartons 24s are mostly 5.95, 36s 6.95-8.95. Long Seedless (greenhouse) cartons filmed wrapped 12s medium are mostly 5.95, small are 3.95-4.95, large are mostly 4.95-5.95, irregular size fair quality are mostly 7.95-8.95. Pickles bushel & 40-45-pound reusable plastic containers 200-300s and 300-400s are 16.95-18.95, 150-200s are 14.95-16.95. Quality is generally good.
Green bell pepper
Movement from Mexico crossings through Nogales, Arizona is expected to increase seasonally. Trading is active at much lower prices. Prices are much lower. 1 1/9-bushel cartons jumbo and extra-large are mostly 28.95-32.95, large are mostly 25.95-28.95, and medium are mostly 18.95-22.95. Quality is generally good.
