Sorma 'Aporo' machine showcased at Fructura fair

"Fruit packing robot reduces manual labor"

Last week at the Fructura fruit fair in Hasselt, Sorma Benelux presented one of its latest innovations in automation for the fresh produce packing hall: the 'Aporo fruit packing robot.' This Aporo machine automatically places round fruit into packing trays within boxes, automating what is traditionally a very labor-intensive process.

The double Aporo machines are already widely used, especially in larger apple packing stations in France and Italy. These machines allow large volumes of round fruit to be processed quickly and efficiently while ensuring the product is handled gently. The Aporo machine can also be integrated seamlessly into existing production environments. For example, following the Aporo machine, an automatic fruit labeling machine from Sinclair—also part of the Sorma product range—can be added. A palletizer can then complete the production process.

The Aporo machine is also suitable for processing products like citrus fruits, stone fruits, and kiwis. During the Fructura fair in Hasselt, Sorma Benelux showcased demos of the 'single' Aporo machine, a compact version of the 'double' machine. This version is particularly appealing to packing stations that need to remain flexible due to its smaller investment and space requirements in the packing hall.

"The Fructura fair in Hasselt is always a great event for Sorma Benelux," says Romke van Velden of Sorma Benelux. "The rotating machine in particular attracted a lot of attention from visitors, giving us an excellent opportunity to demonstrate the machine's simple operation."
