In a recent update from the Undersecretariat of International Economic Relations (Subrei), Chile has surpassed a new threshold in its foreign trade, with service exports reaching a record US$ 2.518 billion, an 18% increase from the previous year. This growth in service exports for the first time exceeds the total of US$ 2.5 billion, highlighting a robust performance in this sector.
Additionally, goods exports have also seen a significant uptick, registering US$ 90,741 million from January to November, marking a 4.7% increase. This achievement is attributed to the strong performance of copper concentrates, forestry products, fresh fruit, machinery, and organic foods. Notably, fresh fruit exports have experienced a 20.3% increase, totaling US$ 6.968 billion, driven by higher returns on kiwis, plums, grapes, apples, pears, blueberries, lemons, and avocados.
Cherries have notably contributed to this success, with early-season shipments reaching US$70 million, a 42% increase. The major markets for these exports include China, the United States, and Brazil, with revenues of US$55 million, US$8.7 million, and US$2.1 million, respectively.
