At the upcoming Potato Expo in Orlando, Florida, from January 9-10, Haith, in collaboration with its US agent, Fox Solutions, will highlight advancements in packhouse technologies, focusing on box-filling solutions. The vegetable handling equipment producer is set to feature its latest developments in box handling, including the QuantaFill box filler and the Quanta-Tip automatic electric rotary box tippler.
In addition to showcasing its box handling range, Haith will exhibit its 'Factory of the Future' installation for a leading North American potato packhouse, incorporating Newtec optical sorters and weighers, which are also represented by Fox. Rob Highfield, Haith's Sales Manager, noted a shift in North America towards box storage systems to enhance crop quality and yield, identifying the QuantaFill as an ideal solution for large-scale growers needing to fill boxes at rates exceeding 50 tons per hour.
The QuantaFill's design streamlines operations by automating the de-stacking, transporting, and filling of boxes, thereby significantly reducing forklift traffic. Haith will also promote its fourth-generation Root-Veg Polisher. The polisher is known for its diverse brush options and ease of maintenance.
Moreover, Haith's integration of Newtec's multi-drop and Celox optical sorters into over 100 projects, including The Little Potato Company's 'Factory of the Future' set for 2024, will be discussed. Highfield expressed the growing interest in Haith's QuantaFill and complete line solutions over the past year, attributing it to shared challenges faced by potato growers and packers, such as labor shortages and the need for efficiency. Haith and Fox Solutions aim to address these issues with their combined expertise and innovative packing solutions.
