Consumers in the Baltic States of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania will soon enjoy fresh cut-fruit from around the world. This will be part of the new offering by the specialised importer and distributor of berries, No Bananas owned by Andero Keronen. "We are about to start selling cut-fruit products in our stores. We will take fruit from around the world with the ready to eat products coming in by air only. We want to sell products that are good to eat only and we want to maximize the eating experience for our No Bananas clients."

Keronen says they have seen great growth in their blueberry and raspberry consumption from consumers in the Baltic countries that they serve. "2024 has been a stormy but successful year. I would especially highlight the growth in blueberry and raspberry consumption. In 2024, we sold 43% more blueberries than in 2023. And the same numbers for raspberries had a 21% increase."
They import the majority of their berry supplies from Spain and some other EU countries, with the drought and now storms impacting supplies negatively. "We have the most problems with sweet cherries. They are very sensitive to weather, and heavy rains and hail caused us big problems in 2024 as well," explains Keronen.
Christmas 2024 and New Year 2025
For the first time No Bananas will have their specialised berry and sweet pea counters open all year round, especially during the Christmas and New Year period. "We have our own No Bananas counters open all year round for the first time. We are planning and doing everything we can to ensure great sales in December and the New Year."
Fruit vending machines "ahead of its time"
He also introduced fruit vending machines in Estonia with some mixed success. "This has been an interesting project. Maybe we've been a bit ahead of our time with this. But, we still believe and hope that vending machines are part of our future. Will see in the future."
Keronen says they aim to serve their clients by offering the best products that they can, this includes introducing new product lines. "Our plan is only to grow and to serve our No Bananas clients around the Baltic States by offering outstanding products that are maximizing the eating experience. That's our goal every day. There are more new products coming in shortly. We have created strawberry jam without any added sugar neither artificial sweeteners. Also, we are starting to produce frozen berries next year. There will be No Bananas 2.0. starting in the new year. We don't limit ourselves any more as a fresh berry retail and wholesale company, but we are a company that keep No Bananas No Bullshit philosophy in all our new projects and products that meets our high outstanding eating experience. We are existing to serve our clients with proud and honour," Keronen proudly concludes.
