Kyrgyz cherry suppliers held an online meeting with representatives of Guangzhou Jiangnan Food Supply Chain Co., Ltd. to discuss export opportunities, according to the Ministry of Agriculture.
Suppliers from different regions of Kyrgyzstan presented their cherry varieties, including "Kokon Gilas" and "Bull's Eye," as well as their production volumes and export potential.
Representatives from Guangzhou Jiangnan Food Supply Chain Co., Ltd. highlighted the growing demand for fresh, high-quality fruits in China. This trend is driven by a rising middle class and increased interest in healthy eating.
"The demand for cherries in China is steadily growing. Consumers prefer high-quality imported fruits. Additionally, the cherry season in Kyrgyzstan (May to October) aligns with the peak demand period in China," the company noted.
The meeting also covered logistics and organizational requirements for exporting cherries. The Chinese company emphasized the importance of ensuring timely delivery.
Both sides expressed readiness to continue working together.
Kyrgyz suppliers will send product catalogs, pricing, and production volumes to the Chinese company, while the importer will review the offers and prepare for trial shipments.
