Volume represents the current week, and prices represent open (spot) market sales by first handlers on products of generally good quality and condition unless otherwise stated and may include promotional allowances or other incentives. The charts provide a graphic representation of the volume and prices of the major commodities this week based on seasonal volume.
Asparagus
Movement from Peru imports arriving through South Florida ports of entry is expected to remain about the same. Trading is fairly active. Prices of extra-large are higher, jumbo and white are slightly higher, small are slightly lower, others are generally unchanged. 11-pound cartons of bunched green jumbo and extra-large are mostly 38.7539.75, large are mostly 30.75-32.75, standard are mostly 27.75-29.75; white large are 39.75-43.75. Supplies of jumbo and extra-large are light, and large are fairly light. Quality is generally good.
Avocado
Movement from Mexico's crossings through Texas is expected to decrease. Trading early was moderate, late was very active. Prices are higher. Cartons 2-layers Hass 32s are 78.25-80.25, 36s are mostly 76.25-78.25, 40s are mostly 72.25-74.25, 48s are mostly 55.25- 58.25, 60s are mostly 46.25-49.25, 70s are mostly 26.25-28.25, and 84s are mostly 21.25-22.25; organic 48s are mostly 68.25, 60s are mostly 50.25-52.25. Prices represent few spot market sales.
Cucumber
Movement from Mexico crossings through Nogales, Arizona is expected to remain about the same. Supplies of Pickles and large are light. Trading of Long Seedless and Pickles is moderate, while others are slow. Prices of small, medium and large are much lower, others are slightly lower. 1 1/9-bushel cartons medium are mostly 3.95-4.95, fair quality are mostly 2.95-3.95, ordinary quality are mostly 2.95-3.50; small are mostly 2.95-3.95, large are mostly 4.95. Cartons 24s are mostly 3.50-4.00, 36s are mostly 4.95. Long Seedless (greenhouse) cartons filmed wrapped 12s medium are mostly 5.95-6.95, and small are mostly 4.95-5.95. Pickles bushel & 40–45-pound reusable plastic containers 200-300s and 300-400s are mostly 16.00-16.95, 150-200s are mostly 14.00-14.95. Quality is generally good. Movement from Mexico's crossings through Texas is expected to decrease. Trading of large is moderate, while others are slow.
Green bell pepper
Movement from Mexico crossings through Nogales, Arizona is expected to increase seasonally. Prices are much lower. 1 1/9-bushel cartons jumbo and extra-large are mostly 20.95-22.95, large are mostly 18.95, medium are mostly 16.95. Quality is generally good. Movement from Central and South Florida is expected to remain about the same. Trading is slow. Prices are much lower. The price includes palletizing and precooling. 1 1/9-bushel cartons jumbo and extra-large are mostly 24.35, large are mostly 22.35, and fair quality are mostly 16.35-18.35. Quality is generally good.
