Egeria acquires majority stake in Den Berk Délice

Den Berk Délice has entered into a strategic partnership with Egeria, an independent investment company, to drive its next phase of growth. This partnership marks a significant milestone in Den Berk Délice's growth journey, aimed at expanding its presence in Europe and solidifying its leadership in the specialty tomato market. The collaboration focuses on:

  • Leveraging opportunities for both organic growth and strategic acquisitions,
  • Further developing its recently established operations in Morocco, and
  • Expanding its customer base among leading European retailers.

Egeria will acquire a majority stake from the current shareholders, who will retain a substantial share of the company. As a new partner in Den Berk Délice's shareholder structure, Egeria will work closely with the management team and existing shareholders, who will continue to play an active role in the company's growth and expansion.

Den Berk Délice
As a Fresh Retail Partner, Den Berk Délice aims to be a leader in flavor, concepts, and branding while pursuing snack vegetables as an additional growth focus in collaboration with Coöperatie Hoogstraten. The company operates eight greenhouses, partially equipped with LED lighting and e-boilers for sustainable cultivation, spanning a total area of 80 hectares. A CO2-neutral sorting and packaging plant supports these facilities. The recent expansion into Morocco enables Den Berk Délice to meet year-round demand and better cater to the growing needs of its European retail partners.

Luc Beirinckx, Koen Lauwerysen, Paul Van de Mierop, and Hans van Gool have worked closely together since the late 1990s. They shared the same profession and the same passion, eventually culminating in the founding of Den Berk Délice in 2014. 10 years later, the Kempen group accounts for around 150 million euros in turnover. Seasonal workers including 900 people work for the company.
