Onubafruit awarded with Superior Taste Award for its exclusive blueberry variety, Demba

The International Taste Institute has awarded Onubafruit, a second-degree Spanish cooperative specializing in the export of fresh fruit, the Superior Taste Award for its exclusive blueberry variety, Demba. This award highlights Demba as one of the most exceptional berries on the international scene, consolidating the cooperative's commitment to innovation, quality, and joint work with its agricultural partners.

The sensory analysis carried out by the International Taste Institute, with the participation of internationally renowned experts, rated Demba as a product of excellence for its balance between appearance, aroma, taste, and texture.

"Demba not only reflects our commitment to excellence but also our commitment to cooperative values. This achievement belongs to all our agricultural members, who day after day work with dedication to offer products that make a difference in international markets," stated Francisco Sánchez, manager of Onubafruit.

"This important award is a recognition of the constant work of Onubafruit and its members in the research, development, and innovation field. The Demba variety is the result of a collaboration between Onubafruit and the Dutch company FV that stands out for its precocity, size, and productive capacity. It is also the result of a meticulous selection process that combines the valuable knowledge of the growers of first-degree cooperative farmers with the company's commitment to leading the sustainable production of high-quality fruit," Sánchez stressed.

"These varieties have been developed to create value for both consumers and farmers, ensuring a balance between economic, social, and environmental sustainability," he stated.
