March 2025

Agri and water trade missions will take place in parallel with royal state visit to Kenya

His Majesty King Willem-Alexander and Her Majesty Queen Máxima are to pay a state visit to Kenya, at the invitation of President William Ruto. The visit will take place from Tuesday 18 to Thursday 20 March 2025.

"This first state visit to Kenya is a reaffirmation of the good relations and solid cooperation between our two countries. The Netherlands seeks to engage in new partnerships in various areas and to deepen the countries' existing ties. Kenya plays an increasingly influential role in the global arena. In addition, the Netherlands and Kenya maintain close economic relations, and both are major hubs and gateways to large regions.

Within the UN and other international organizations, too, the two countries work together actively towards goals relating to democracy, the rule of law, and independence of the judiciary. The Netherlands and Kenya also work together on challenges relating to peace and security, climate change, and food security."

Two Economic missions focusing on sustainable agriculture and water will take place in parallel with the King and Queen's state visit. For more information and/or to register for these missions, go to: Economische missie Kenia: Duurzame land- en tuinbouw en water | RVO.nl

Note: the deadline for registration has been extended until 28 January 2025
