In Cottenham, a lorry harboring seven individuals among cucumber containers was intercepted after one of the occupants made a distress call to the police on January 7. The vehicle was promptly located, revealing six men and a woman who had been concealed within for 18 hours.
Following the discovery, the driver was apprehended under the suspicion of facilitating unauthorized entry into the UK and has been granted bail until April. The individuals found were provided medical assessment by the ambulance service and have been directed to the immigration service for further processing.
