Planasa appoints Hans Liekens to drive berry sector growth

Planasa, a company specializing in plant variety research and nursery operations within the berry sector, has announced the appointment of Hans Liekens as global head of innovation.

Liekens brings 30 years of experience in the FMCG and agriculture industries, having held senior roles at companies including Tropicana, Chiquita, Campina, Hessing, and Fall Creek. His background in innovation and business strategy is expected to contribute to Planasa's efforts to expand its work in berry breeding and enhance its nursery operations.

According to the company, Liekens' appointment aligns with its focus on innovation, operational improvements, and international growth. CEO Michael Brinkmann noted that Liekens will be responsible for integrating new processes aimed at improving efficiency and productivity in the company's operations.

In his statement, Liekens indicated that his priorities would include focusing on consumer needs and developing innovative approaches to strengthen the company's offerings in the berry sector.
