"Learning about trends and quality requirements allows us to prepare for upcoming challenges"

This year, on March 6 and 7, the 13th edition of the International Blueberry Conference will be held. The event brings together blueberry growers from Poland, Europe and even more distant countries around the world. This conference is an opportunity to establish new contacts, hold B2B meetings and gain the latest knowledge about blueberry cultivation.

Important conversations, important contacts
Meetings, conversations, discussions – all of this among people involved in the cultivation of one species – blueberry. This definitely attracts people to the Blueberry Conference – the place where growers, companies that buy and export blueberries, suppliers of production resources and technology will meet. The exhibition part is attended by almost 60 companies whose offer is aimed at the blueberry industry. There is an opportunity to talk about new products, but also about selling fruit. This year, among the exhibitors there will also be companies that buy fruit. Although the harvest season is still far away, it is already worth thinking about the possibilities of selling the fruit produced.

"The Conference brings together leading experts, growers and producers of production agents, shaping together the future of the blueberry market in Poland and abroad," says Dezyderiusz Mietlicki from Carbohort. He adds "For us, as exhibitors, it is an opportunity to present our offer to a wider audience and meet our regular customers in a slightly different atmosphere than usual. The conference is also a source of knowledge about the latest trends, innovations and market needs, which allows us to better understand and prepare for the upcoming challenges."

The newest knowledge
Trends, challenges, opportunities. All of this will be discussed in the rich conference program. There will be 12 lectures prepared by an international group of specialists. Many of them will be related to current problems in production (climate change, restrictions on the use of protective measures, employee management...). There will be also an opportunity to learn about the trends and requirements regarding quality – especially the one that will allow the fruit to be exported and delivered to distant markets. And there are quite a few possibilities in this area. In addition to the lectures, another edition of the publication "Modern blueberry cultivation" will be available for the Conference participants.

The Blueberry Conference is a meeting that has been connecting enthusiasts and experts in the blueberry industry for 13 years, to discover the future of cultivation together. This year's theme is innovation and practical solutions that will allow growers to achieve better yields and get ahead of the competition. It is worth being there to gain inspiration, establish contacts and use the knowledge of the best specialists in your business. I will be there, of course," says Paweł Wawryszczuk, manager of the blueberry plantation in Ochoża, which is run in an organic system.

Susanne R. Knobloch, Sales Manager in Europe, United Exports, an International company from South Africa has positive memories from the previous edition: "My expectations were exceeded. It's been a long time since I've seen so many high-quality presentations from experts on one conference day. I was able to make very valuable contacts for our blueberry brand OZblu. The second day with the practical part on a blueberry farm was also perfectly organized. I'm sure it won't be there for the last time."

Field practice
An indispensable part of the International Blueberry Conference is an outdoor day at a blueberry plantation. This time we will visit the Milewski farm located in Falbogi Wielkie (Załuski commune), where blueberries are grown on an area of over 20 ha. During the meeting, workshops on pruning blueberry bushes will be held. There will also be an opportunity to learn about the cooling facilities and see how fruit is prepared for sale. In this area, solutions from the Milbor company will appear. A new solution related to agrovoltaics will also be presented at the plantation, i.e. photovoltaic panel systems dedicated to blueberry plantations. Representatives of the Corab company will present practical information in this field. Additionally machine shows and interesting talks on practical aspects of running blueberry plantations will be held. Participation in the outdoor meeting is only for participants of the first day of the Blueberry Conference.

"For many years now, the Blueberry Conference has been gathering the best blueberry growers from Poland and Europe. The information provided during the conference allows growers to adapt their plantations to the current and future requirements of their customers. It allows them to analyze the current state and apply development strategies for the coming years. You can register now and buy tickets at a reduced price, the ticket price is lower until February 23."
