Austrian manufacturer presents new products at BioFach:

"In addition to product innovations, we have modernized our cultivation and customer service"

Numerous suppliers of a wide variety of organic foods present themselves at the BioFach in Nuremberg, Germany, every year. Schneider's Gemüseland has been one of the regular exhibitors in the organic vegetable category for many years. The company, located in the heart of the Lower Austrian vegetable garden Marchfeld, will be presenting several new products to the trade visitors on site again this year, reports managing director Barbara Kargl.

In terms of quantity, carrots are still the company's main product. Using the latest plant technology, such as color sorting, polishing, and packaging processes, the root vegetables are prepared in a wide variety of ways. About a third of the total volume is organic produce, and the trend is rising, says Kargl. "New in the fresh produce range are our organic snack carrots, which we will be presenting in Nuremberg."

For entertainment, Schneiders Gemüseland is once again offering a prize competition at the exhibition stand.

Among the long-running hits in the frozen food range are the organic 'Supersweet' sweetcorn and the protein-rich peas, Kargl continues. "We already separate the corn from the cob and thus deliver a ready-to-use frozen product that is suitable for many sales channels, whether in retail or in further processing. We also note that demand is increasing from year to year in both the organic and conventional sectors." The company's frozen food range has been extended to include pumpkins and a new organic mix.

Most of the raw materials needed are grown on the company's own farms. Investments are constantly being made here to further modernize and automate vegetable production. Kargl: "We now also have a special innovation in agriculture. This is an innovative robot for weeding." Finally, a new service has recently been added: "Our customers now have access to our new website, with a new members' area where customers can easily and conveniently book a loading window for picking up their goods themselves," she concludes.
