A new line of post-harvest solutions, Fresh Formulaics, has just been launched for growers, shippers, and packers of fresh produce. "We have listened to our customers and have created solutions keeping the supplier in mind," says Denise Junqueiro, VP of Marketing. "We believe this is the next generation of post-harvest products as they are safer, smarter, and more effective compared to conventional waxes currently available in the market," she added.
All products from the new line have been designed to create solutions through the supply-chain that provide true value for customers with sustainability in mind. They are safer for workers because the solutions are all plant-based, creating an environment where workers can wear less PPE and offering a less toxic environment than most products available. In addition to improved safety, Fresh Formulaics reduces spoilage, extends shelf-life, inhibits mold, and improves product appearance, which will ultimately benefit suppliers' top and bottom line.
Fresh Formulaics comes in three different categories:
- The Shine product line enhances appearance and quality.
- Extend products reduce spoilage and extend the freshness of produce.
- The Protect line inhibits mold and decay.
Customers have the option to buy one product from the Fresh Formulaics line or a combination of different options, depending on their needs and their operation.
Launch at Fruit Logistica Berlin
The first product to be officially launched is from the Shine line, making its debut at next week's Fruit Logistica event in Berlin. Initially, it will be available to suppliers in Spain and South Africa, followed by Chile, Peru, and Mexico in spring of this year. In the second half of 2025, the line will become available for customers in the U.S. Extend, the solution that reduces spoilage and extends freshness, is currently in the commercial trial phase. Once the commercial trials have been finalized, the product will be launched and available globally.
For now, all products from the Fresh Formulaics line will mainly be applied to citrus, avocados, mangos and stone fruit, but opportunities are being explored in other commodities as well.
Fresh Formulaics is a drop ship model, providing ease of use within the current packing structure. "It is a very standard application, compatible with any other product that is currently used in the packing house," commented Junqueiro. All in all, this new product line gives the customer base the next level of support and allows them to meet sustainability and freshness goals without having to spend a tremendous amount of extra money.
