PAWI is launching recyclable cardboard boxes for fruit and berries. They combine sustainable materials with high functionality, according to the manufacturer. "The fruit stays fresh for a particularly long time thanks to a firm edge and special coating. They are also easy to stack and suitable for efficient logistics."
PAWI Packaging Switzerland AG is expanding its portfolio to include recyclable cardboard trays for fruit and berries. As the Winterthur-based packaging manufacturer writes in a press release, the boxes are made from renewable raw materials and can be returned to the recycling cycle.

Space-saving design
The cardboard trays have a particularly stable, double-glued edge and are easy to fill by machine or by hand. A special coating helps fruit stay fresh for longer. For delicate and quickly perishable products such as raspberries or blueberries, PAWI offers an integrated, sustainable absorbent fleece.
Their space-saving design helps to ensure efficient logistics. The 250-gram and 500-gram trays are delivered "erected and can be stacked compactly, while the single-layer cups are delivered flat and can be erected in a few simple steps before filling," the company says. PAWI offers retailers the option of having the boxes printed with an individual company logo.
During development, consideration was given to the principle that packaging solutions for fresh and sensitive products should "not only be environmentally friendly but also ensure functionality and product protection."
