CNC, a part of the CMA CGM Group, has initiated the SP8 service to address the demand for reefer shipments from Mindanao ports, namely Davao and General Santos. This service is tailored for exporting sensitive commodities, including bananas and pineapples, ensuring their quality upon reaching international markets.
The SP8 service route connects Singapore, Davao, and General Santos, a market that has been traditionally underserved. Operated solely by CNC, this service enhances control and schedule reliability, ensuring timely deliveries for reefer cargoes.
Two 1,100 TEUs geared vessels, equipped with onboard lifting equipment, serve the SP8 route. This feature allows for independent loading and unloading, increasing operational flexibility and reducing turnaround times, particularly in ports with limited crane availability.
SP8 offers a weekly service linking Davao and General Santos directly to Singapore, a key transshipment hub. From Singapore, shipments access CMA CGM's global network, reaching markets in Europe, the U.S., the Middle East, and Australia, thus improving transit times for Philippine agricultural products.
