The Bulgarian Farmers' Association has expressed concerns regarding the recent memorandum between protesters and the government, stating it does not adequately address the demands for safeguarding Bulgarian agricultural production.
"Restricting imports to sunflower seeds only is a step in the right direction, but it is not enough," the organization stated in an open letter. The association highlighted uncertainties about the effectiveness and enforcement of the proposed import quota mechanism for goods from Ukraine.
The Farmers' Association emphasized that a complete ban on imports of fruit and vegetables from Ukraine is the only viable solution.
