After a very successful first year at CPMA 2024, Berry Fresh is excited to return to CPMA this year. With exciting news around its merger with BerryWorld Group in the UK, innovation in its genetics portfolio, and a growing team, 2025 is set to be a big year for the company.
"We've been coasting for the last decade and doing really well, but the industry is changing, and we are growing fast. We've been focusing on strengthening our foundation this past year with a strong team, better tools, and investment in high-flavor varieties," says Jyoti Bhogal, VP of sales & marketing. "A lot of exciting things are coming down the pipeline with our parent company's merger with the BerryWorld Group in the UK. We're hopeful that there will be learnings on both sides to strengthen the company as a whole."
Jyoti Bhogal says the company has been focusing on strengthening its foundation this past year which includes investing in high-flavor varieties.
One of those high-flavor varieties is the Sweet Karoline® blackberries. The season is in full swing and is shaping up to be a strong one, with great flavor and quality coming out of the company's fields in Mexico. Berry Fresh is highlighting this variety at trade shows this year.
"We just came from SEPC's Southern Exposure and our Sweet Karoline was a hit. We had people coming back to our samples for seconds and thirds. It has a consistently sweet flavor that isn't one-dimensional. It's unique and makes people want to eat the whole clamshell," says Laudan Chaffin, director of marketing for Berry Fresh.
