Bananas – wholesale prices week 11

Banana prices rise in Bulgaria and France, fall in Romania and Slovakia

In week 11, the average wholesale price per kilogram of bananas from Latin America and the Caribbean increased in Bulgaria (BG), France (FR), and Slovakia (SK), while Romania (RO) saw a decrease. According to the data, Bulgaria's average price rose slightly from €1.40 in week 10 to €1.42 in week 11, reflecting a modest gain of €0.02. France reported a more noticeable rise, with prices increasing from €1.26 to €1.30 per kilogram during the same period.

Romania experienced a significant price decline. The average wholesale price dropped from €1.81 per kilogram in week 10 to €1.53 in week 11, marking a decrease of €0.28. This was the largest change among the four selected countries. Slovakia also recorded a decline, though less pronounced, with prices falling from €1.30 to €1.23 per kilogram, a drop of €0.07.

These figures highlight price stability in some markets and sharper shifts in others. France and Bulgaria saw upward movements, albeit at different scales, while Romania and Slovakia experienced downward trends. The data reflects week-on-week changes in average wholesale banana prices across different European countries.
