Harvested in Gisborne, New Zealand-grown Envy apples are set for export to over 55 countries. Shane Kingston, T&G's Chief Operating Officer of Apples, noted that this season's premium Envy-branded apples are highly anticipated by global customers.
Kingston stated, "Over the last 16 years, we've invested significantly in building Envy branded apples to become one of the premium apple brands in key global markets, including Viet Nam, Thailand, China, and the United States." He emphasized the importance of an integrated supply chain system to ensure a consistent eating experience and strong returns for growers.
This year's crop, with its favorable weather conditions, offers superb color, crunch, and a delicate sweet flavor, facilitating a smooth transition from Northern Hemisphere-grown Envy to Southern Hemisphere supply.
For the 2025 New Zealand apples season, T&G forecasts total exports of 4.4 million tray carton equivalents (TCEs), equivalent to 79,200 tons of apples, marking the largest crop since 2022. "Our customers will be excited by the increased Envy apple volumes this season, as we work hard to meet growing consumer demand for the brand," Kingston added.
In recent months, T&G reported strong Lunar New Year sales across Asia, with continued momentum. In the United States, Envy ranks as the second highest branded apple for units purchased per trip and third for repeat shopper visits, indicating a strong consumer preference for the premium brand.
