KingsOne Farms has initiated construction on a 6.5-acre greenhouse facility in Kingsville, Ontario, focusing on year-round lettuce production. The project is led by Cole Mucci, a third-generation grower with prior experience as bell pepper operations manager at Mucci Farms. The facility is scheduled to commence production in fall 2025.

The greenhouse is designed to produce nearly 11 million heads of lettuce annually. The operation will incorporate advanced automation and environmental control systems to manage climate, irrigation, and nutrient delivery. Mucci selected lettuce as the primary crop due to its market potential and the current reliance on imports for over 80% of Canada's lettuce supply.
"This is more than just a farm. It is a fresh take on agriculture — smart systems, fresh thinking, real growth", the team shared.
All produce from KingsOne Farms will be marketed under the Mucci Farms brand. Future plans include facility expansion and the integration of additional agricultural technologies.

The ground-breaking ceremony was attended by Kingsville Mayor Dennis Rogers, Cole Mucci, and Tony Abbas of Prospiant, the design-build partner for the project.
This venture will focus on producing clean, nutritious, and flavorful lettuce using cutting-edge technology and sustainable practices.
