Eco Farm Srl focuses on high organoleptic standards for stone fruit

Production campaign of Sicilian apricots in full swing

In the frenzied dynamics that regulate the commerce of fresh and perishable products, all processes aim at maintaining product quality standards high starting with production, harvesting and processing and ending with the delivery to partners such as big retail chain platforms and wholesale markets: in both cases, what counts is the condition of the goods under all aspects.

The freshness and goodness of products are at the base of the efforts that the Eco Farm Srl PO is making every day to the satisfaction of its clients. Thanks to a network of local growers, the company commercializes around 12,000 tons of fruit every year, selecting only that with the best quality.

The apricot campaign is in full swing at the company, which is in located in Butera (CL), in the heart of Sicily.

"Despite the drought and various climate problems, our PO focuses on the high-quality of its production, investing in sustainable agricultural practices that respect the environment. The company follows strict standards, privileging natural and organic methods that preserve the health of consumers and the balance of the ecosystem. Graders are good and flavor is in line with our highest standards.," explains Carmelo Stagnitto, production manager at Eco Farm.

Quality manager Tonino Costa adds that "our suppliers are showing extraordinary resilience when it comes to tackling the challenges posed by climate change. Early harvesting is an example of how they are adapting to the change in natural rhythms in a clever and creative way. The early harvesting of apricots consists in putting into practice agronomic techniques that enable the fruits to ripen earlier than expected, to avoid the negative effects caused by the out-of-season drought and precipitations."

"Therefore, despite everything, the color and flavor of our apricots are much appreciated this year too. With the start of the apricot season, Eco Farm Srl confirmed itself as a point of reference for the segment, combining tradition, innovation and sustainability to provide solutions with flavorful and genuine experiences. Production prices are the same as last year, ranging between €0.70 and €0.50/kg and depend on batch quality and the specific moment," concludes Costa.
