Investment opportunity in NZ kiwifruit sector

New dual-purpose worker accommodation and cool store complex in Bay of Plenty

A newly established accommodation complex, designed to support New Zealand's leading horticultural export - the kiwifruit industry, alongside an existing cool store facility, is presented as an investment opportunity by Bayleys. Located on 1.1575ha of land at 43 Sharp Road, near Katikati and close to the main highway to Tauranga and the Eastern Bay of Plenty, this dual-purpose site is highlighted following a productive 2024 kiwifruit season in the Bay of Plenty.

The property, which features a long-term lease with Seeka Limited, New Zealand and Australia's premier kiwifruit supply company, offers an annual net rental income of $750,000 plus GST, with CPI adjustments. Seeka manages over 900ha of kiwifruit orchards, securing the property's position as a stable investment.

Named Turanga Whetu, the complex includes nine buildings with a total area of 3,020sq m, providing accommodation for 140 seasonal workers and a range of communal facilities. Additionally, an original cool store has been adapted for workshop and office use, with a portion serving as communal living space.
