In Tripura, a collaboration between Sheel Biotech Team and the Tripura State Organic Farming Development Agency, alongside Thalaither Organic Producer Company Limited, facilitated the dispatch of 30 metric tons of pineapples to Bengaluru.
This operation, part of MOVCD-NEP Phase III, signifies a notable advancement in the agricultural sector of the region, with the produce being transported in refrigerated vehicles. This marks the beginning of a regular dispatch schedule, aiming for two trips per week to ensure a steady supply of pineapples to the market. "This is the largest shipment of pineapples so far this year, underscoring the resilience and dedication of our pineapple farming community," stated a TSOFDA spokesperson.
The initiative is seen as a key move towards improving farmers' incomes and is aligned with the government's objective of doubling these incomes, pointing towards a future of sustainable growth in organic farming within the area.
