Uttar Pradesh set to export 40 tons of mangoes to Japan and Malaysia

Uttar Pradesh is set to export 40 tons of mangoes to Japan and Malaysia, as announced by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath during the inauguration of the UP Mango Festival 2024 at Awadh Shilp Gram.

The region is also exporting Dussehri mangoes to the United States for the first time in 160 years, marking a notable development in the international fruit trade. The Chief Minister highlighted the economic dynamics of exporting Dussehri mangoes, noting that while domestic prices range from Rs 60 to 100 per kilogram, the export price to the US market escalates to Rs 900 per kilogram. Despite the high costs associated with duties, cargo, and airfare—estimated between Rs 250-300 per kilogram—farmers and gardeners are expected to profit approximately Rs 600 for every kilogram exported.
