For the first time, Maidan Wardak province in Afghanistan has initiated the export of cherries and apricots to India. According to Mawlawi Mohammad Idris Hanif, the head of the Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock Department, this venture was achieved with the collaboration of private entities.
Hanif highlighted the future strategy to extend the exportation of fresh fruits to Arab nations through air corridors, aiming at enhancing the marketing of these commodities. Additionally, the development of cold storage facilities is underway in the province, which is anticipated to support the preservation of fresh fruits and aid local farmers.
