Camposol, a leading producer of blueberries from Peru, has entered into a partnership with Ninjacart, an agri-startup backed by Walmart in India, aiming to enhance the distribution of premium blueberries across the Indian market. Through a memorandum of understanding signed this month, Camposol will utilize Ninjacart's advanced supply chain and its wide retail network to reach over 100 cities via more than 100,000 retail outlets in India. The collaboration intends to supply 250-275 tons of Peruvian blueberries in the current season.
According to Sergio Torres, Senior Vice President-Commercial Operations at Camposol, Ninjacart's comprehensive presence and insight into the Indian market are expected to position Camposol as a premier blueberry supplier in the region. The partnership seeks to bridge the gap in supply and demand for blueberries in India, catering to the increasing consumption despite the rise in domestic production.
Sharath Loganathan, Co-founder and Head of International Business at Ninjacart, highlighted the growing demand and the anticipated 20-25% market growth over the next three years, with the current market size standing at approximately USD 60 million. This collaboration is seen as a step towards establishing a robust and sustainable blueberry supply chain in India, potentially strengthening agricultural relations between Peru and India.
