Cartama Group, a pioneer in Hass avocado production and export in Colombia, has proudly announced the shipment of its 5,000th container. This event marks a significant milestone for the country's avocado industry and Cartama.
The shipment of this container, carrying around 21,696 kilograms of Hass avocado in 1,920 boxes, highlights Cartama's export capacity and the effort and dedication of its entire production chain. At a commemorative event, Ricardo Uribe, the company's CEO, dedicated this achievement to its producers, suppliers, and collaborators, who have been fundamental to achieving this success.
To celebrate, Cartama has launched the "5,000 Hass Stories" campaign, which highlights five social, environmental, and economic sustainability stories. These stories reflect the positive impact that the company has had in Antioquia, Caldas, and Risaralda, where it has provided decent employment to their inhabitants, contributed to the progress of the territories, and promoted sustainable practices such as taking care of water sources, the restoration of previously degraded soils, and pollination with bees.
Over the years, Cartama has consolidated its productive and export capacity to reach this milestone. The company achieved this success thanks to the expansion of its own planted hectares, its solid alliance with Hass avocado producers throughout the country, and the strategic advantage offered by Colombia's location, which allows producing and supplying avocado all year.
