X5 Import, responsible for direct imports for X5 Group businesses, has announced the launch of certified organic banana supplies to the shelves of its retail chains.
The first certified supplier is the "Association of Ecological Agricultural Production of Bananas," located in El Oro, Ecuador. This company has passed a two-stage certification process.
The expected supply volume from the Ecuadorian enterprise is around 1,600 tons of product per year.
Obtaining the organic certification means that the producer meets all Russian requirements for organic production. In Russia, only the presence of a compliance certificate from an accredited certification body allows a producer to label their products as organic with the state-approved mark.
