In the first eight months of 2024, Uzbekistan significantly increased its exports of fruits and vegetables. According to the State Statistics Agency, the country's overall export of these goods reached $922.8 million, marking a 20.8% increase compared to the previous year.
During this period, Uzbekistan exported 65,000 tons of apricots, generating $62.3 million in revenue—a $21.6 million rise compared to the same timeframe in 2023. Key markets for Uzbek apricots include Russia, which received 51,500 tons, along with Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Belarus.
Furthermore, from January to August 2024, Uzbekistan exported 162,000 tons of cabbage, earning $42.7 million. This figure represents a $21.5 million increase year-on-year. Russia was the largest buyer of Uzbek cabbage, importing 85,000 tons, while Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Belarus also contributed to the growing demand.
