With the peak export season approaching, particularly for holiday-bound fruits, rising shipping costs are expected due to limited cargo availability from November onwards. To meet cold chain requirements for produce, Beijing Sino-Agricultural Biosciences Co., Ltd., a provider of temperature data loggers for fruit and vegetable transport, showcased its METECH disposable USB temperature data logger at the Fruit Attraction Expo in Madrid, Spain this October.
The METECH disposable data logger has been in high demand recently. Siya from Beijing Sino-Agricultural Biosciences explained, "We've paused our 4G data logger sales due to limited network coverage in certain regions and increased manufacturing costs from the chip market's instability. Instead, we're focusing on promoting the METECH basic model."
The METECH model features TI digital temperature sensors, offering a measurement range of -30°C to +70°C with an accuracy of ±0.5°C (±0.9°F) and a resolution of 0.01°C. The data logger can store up to 14,400 records over a maximum period of 120 days. "This USB-enabled, disposable logger is ideal for use in areas without Internet access," Siya noted. "The device auto-generates a PDF temperature report when plugged into a computer—no software required. It's also significantly more affordable, costing 6 to 10 times less than the 4G models, making it more suitable for fruit and vegetable cold chains."
Siya added that demand for these data loggers is expected to remain high through the Northern Hemisphere's fruit season, as tight shipping capacity continues.
Beijing Sino-Agricultural Biosciences has attended the Fruit Attraction expo for five consecutive years. "We had over a hundred visitors this year, including grape exporters from South America and Africa. The booth was busy, and we're pleased with the level of interest," Siya shared.
