Man breaks world record for fastest pineapple slicing

Pineapple enthusiast Rich Ellenson, 44, set a new world record by slicing and peeling a pineapple in just 17.85 seconds, beating the previous record of 27.07 seconds. Rich, who eats three pineapples every weekend, trained rigorously for months, perfecting his technique by cutting over 100 pineapples and even sourcing the ideal fruit from 13 different vendors. After multiple attempts, his eighth try was finally successful, meeting the strict slicing criteria. The record attempt, held in Concord, California, was a meaningful moment for Rich, as he dedicated it to his late father and found it a positive focus after stressful home renovations.
